La Maison du Paradou Situated at the foot of the Alpilles, neighbouring St Remy de Provence and Les Baux and close to Arles, Avignon, Aix en Provence and Marseille. This 17th Century French postal inn has been thoughtfully renovated by Brits Nick and Andrea Morris to create an intimate boutique hotel. Nick and Andrea make charming hosts and you feel like you are old friends come to visit. Bedrooms and bathrooms are elegantly designed and there is a delightful swimming pool.

Hotel la Colombe d'Or 

This charming hotel set in the hilltop village of Saint Paul de Vence might be small and boutique but it has a huge reputation. Once a hangout for major artists such as Picasso, Chagal and Matisse it is now popular with French celebrities of the stage and screen.  The hotels walls are adorned with an extraordinary array of artwork, much of it donated by poor artists in lieu of meals and board.  The rooms are charming and lunch on the terrace is an absolute joy.
